If you miss fairways off the tee on a regular basis the Acer XDS Thriver is
the driver you want in your bag.
One the one hand, a modern driver is approximately 3 times the size of a
3-wood but is a much more forgiving club due to the higher MOI. Factor in the thinner face and
increased COR and the driver is longer and more forgiving.
One the other hand though, 3-woods have more loft which tends to cut down on
side spin for more accurate shots. Plus the shorter shaft length allows for more control.
So why not just cut down your driver to 3-wood length? The problem would be with
the swing weight of the finished club. The shorter shaft would make the club too light to
control.
The Acer XDS Thriver adds 10 grams of weight to the head, making up for the
reduced weight of the shaft.
This extra weight goes around the head perimeter for even better weight
distribution and even higher MOI.
Markings on the crown provide a clear visual aid that almost forces you to swing
on the correct in-to-out swing path, for even more distance and control.
Where the standard driver goes long but wrong and the standard 3-wood is just
not long enough, the Thriver brings the best of both worlds back to your game.
