The Acer XDS Insider features a couple of sneaky design firsts, aimed at
getting your swing on the correct path. In-to-out.
A while back there was a Golf Digest article that explained how a golfer
swinging at 95 mph could add upto 42 yards to their drives if they swung on a more inside-to-out
swing path.
Now that might be a bit excessive, but there's no denying the fact that coming
over the top and swinging out-to-in is one of the main causes of the dreaded slice.
Moving to a more in-to-out swing helps reduce the tendency to slice and means
more yards and more drives in the middle of the short stuff. Never a bad thing.
Problem is, most people who swing out-to-in, don't even realise they are doing
it. The Acer XDS Insider aims to correct that.
With a profile and crown contour that gives an easy visual aid to the correct
in-to-out swing, the XDS Insider is putting more golfers on the right track.
The face angle is closed, further reducing the slice, but it's not one of these
heads that are difficult to align. The face angle looks neutral at address and the Insider is a
doddle to align.
It's amazing how effective the most simple things sometimes are and the Insider
is a case in point.
