Acer XDS Insider Fairway Woods. Deriving their name from the
markings on the crown, the XDS Insider series is designed to get you on the correct inside-to-out
swing path.
Swinging a club on an out-to-in path (also known as coming over the top) is one
of the main causes of slices. Not to be confused with a fade, which is actually a very good scoring
shot, the slice robs golfers of accuracy and distance.
Getting the club into the correct in-to-out swing path would virtually eliminate
the slice for the vast majority of sufferers out there in golf land, so the Acer XDS Insider aims
to do just that.
With crown markings that actually force you to swing the club on the correct
path and some other clever touches like varied face angles in the various woods, the XDS does
exactly what it's designed to do.
Get you back to the straight and narrow (although I sincerely hope your local
fairways aren't that narrow).
Apart from the stuff you can see on the clubs, the Insider series also throws in
some nifty little design features you CAN'T see.
Variable Crown Technology and additional internal weighting means that weight
can be re-distributed around the head to provide increased stability and higher launch angles.
Throw in a shallow face height and a 4-way radius sole and you have a set of
fairway woods for all seasons.
