The Swoosh, the Greek Goddess of Victory, Waffle Irons, NBA Rookie Michael Jordan in 1985 and
unproven young golfing talent Eldrick "Tiger" Woods in 1996. Nike has always been at the fore-front of innovation
in the athletics industry.
Named after the Greek Goddess of Victory Νίκη, the company's Swoosh logo was designed
by Carolyn Davidson, a design student at Portland State University and the company was re-launched as Nike in the
early 1970's. Before that, the company had been a distributor for the Onitsuka Co. of Kobe, Japan since the
1950's.
Nike shoes featured a new innovation that founder Bill Bowerman drew inspiration for from his
wife’s waffle iron - an outsole that had waffle-type nubs for traction. Tasty...
The 1980's were lean times for the company with sales slipping. That was at least until the
arrival of NBA Rookie Michael Jordan. Sales soared on the back of Michael's own soaring dunks.
In 1996, Nike Golf signed a certain Eldrick “Tiger” Woods, a vastly talented but
as-yet-unproven young golfer, for a reported $5 million a year.
Competitors and critics alike laughed at what they called Nike’s "folly". The criticism lasted
till 1997 when Tiger won the Masters by a record 12 strokes.
Guess nobody is laughing anymore and the rest is pretty much history.
History like Tiger's chip at the 16th in the 2005 Masters. Nike got a
huge break there.
Remember the last image of the ball just before it toppled into the hole for an unlikely birdie?
That kind of image is difficult enough to setup in a controlled shoot, let alone in a real live tournament.
That shot was pretty important for Tiger but priceless for Nike.
Nike Golf will be forever tied to Tiger Woods. His own commitment to excellence in anything he
does means Nike have to stay at the top of their own game to keep their iconic lead man happy. So far the formula
seems to be a success.

Highest Quality Recycled Golf Balls Available
Straight from the sleeve to the bushes. These balls will look and feel like a brand new golf
ball. There may be some logo balls included and balls with slight pen markings, but the playing and
flight characteristics will be as new.
We like to call these One Hit Wonders. Tee these up in
competitions and you really won't tell the difference from a brand new ball, apart from the
price.

These look like a ball that's been played for 3 or 4 holes. Slight cosmetic
blemish or imperfections but nothing that will alter the playing characteristics. Logo balls and
balls with slight pen markings may be included.
Certainly good enough for a Medal Day with the added satisfaction of being a
fraction of the cost of new balls.

Similar to a ball that's been played for 9 holes, with slight scuffs, blemishes
and imperfections. No cuts on these balls though. Logo ball or balls with light pen markings may be
included. Great for casual play and your game will get more consistent by always using the
same type of golf ball.
Tee these up on that tough water hole and a splash won't hurt quite as bad.
