The Acer CB3 Custom Putter is one of those designs that benefited from the
recent rule changes regarding putter dimensions.
Putters can now have a front-to-back dimension which is bigger then the face
size, so more and more manufacturers are incorporating this into extremely high MOI
custom putter designs.
The CB3 is one of these high MOI designs.
The putter is designed to with a smaller face size and bigger front-to-back
dimensions, moving a huge percentage of the total weight to the perimeter.
The design of the CB3 custom putter means the face dimension is scaled down to
about 2 1/2". Compare that to a normal blade putter at around 5" and it might seem small.
Putts are missed by twisting the putter at impact, not so much missing the
center of the face, so the CB3 makes a lot of sense.
Cast from stainless steel, the Acer CB3 custom putter features an aluminium face
insert that really gets the ball rolling nicely to the hole.
The CB3 is a lot of putter at an very reasonable price. These small-faced
putters are sure to become more and more popular. It's a simple but deadly effective idea.
