About Us
Collectively we've been golfers for just short
of 100 years and mighty rewarding and well spent years they've been.
The youngster of the team, Andrew, has been golfing since age 9, although he did waste a good
few years on things like school, exams and university. Now 45, he plays to low single figures and is about as good
an iron player as you'll ever see. Can suffer with a wood in his hands though, usually when I "suggest" the green
is just out of reach.
He's a tinkerer and a BIG shaft person. Probably knows more about shaft reaction than anybody
I've ever come across, so a good guy to know when you're looking for a change of shaft.
He's one of those guys who doesn't really care what it says on a club.
He's only really interested in how well the club works for him. Pretty good attitude to have.
Best described as a "grinder", even on an off-day he can usually grind out a fairly respectable score.

Favs: Shaft Design. He can quite hapilly spend a week-end reading shaft specs and
about the same amount of time explaining the finer points of shaft design to anybody unfortunate
enough to be within hearing range
-
Favorite Players: Mr Ben Hogan, Lee, Jack, Seve, Tiger, Phil, Ernie and Anika
-
Pet Hates: Slow Play
I'm the old codger of the team. Paul's my name and at age 78, I can still knock it around
in high single figures. Steady is the name of my game. Yardages have dropped a bit over the years, although at
my age, stuff dropping is more or less the norm.
My short game is as tight as ever and benefiting from higher spin balls. I don't hit the ball as
hard as I used to anymore, so spin balls designed for lower swing speeds have helped me a lot. I make my scores
from being consistent. Not too many mistakes and I can usually rely on my short game to bail me out if things do go
pear shaped.
My putting has always been solid and a source of constant four letter muttering from
Andrew as I tend to hole long putts pretty regularly. Jam Strangling B*****d is one of his favorites, along with
some other juicier examples of his seemingly endless supply of ways to describe my lucky putting. Funny thing is,
the more I practice, the luckier I get, as the bunker uber-maestro Gary Player himself once said.
-
Favs: Anything short game related. I don't hit any bombs anymore so the short game is
where I get my scores. Wedge design, chipping, pitching, putting
-
Favorite Players: Jack, Tiger, Arnie, Ernie, Gary, Anika
-
Pet Hates: People who don't play provisionals when their shot might be a lost ball
Modern equipment and in particular shaft design means I can still get pretty decent yardages.
Senior and even Ladies flex shafts have helped my yardages stay respectable and as long as it works, I don't mind
playing a bright pink shaft in my driver. Scores cards don't have any pictures on them, just the bottom line.
This website is by golfers for golfers. Anything to do with golf interests us and we enjoy
sharing our findings with the rest of the golfing brotherhood.
We really hope you find this site interesting and look forward to seeing you here regularly.
May all your balls be long and straight and the rough out of range.
